Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device, 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height consisting of a silver tower between two towers with portal detailed black, charged with two black keys saltirewise superimposed throughout by a sword palewise point up countercharged black and silver, all enclosed at bottom by a blue scroll inscribed "FRONT GATE" in silver.

Symbolism
Blue and white are the colors traditionally used by Corps. The sword, adapted from the USAREUR insignia, highlights the location of the unit. The keys symbolize supply and maintenance functions of the unit in support of crucial operations in Europe. The castle gate, symbolizes strength and defense.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved on 5 Jan 1998 for the 19th Corps Materiel Management Center. On 1 Oct 2000, the insignia was redesignated.
